veryvery This live album crashes right through the door in a crescendo of tandem guitars, wailing in imperfectly perfect unison, supported by positively electric keys, and strung together with the wistful lyrical stylings of their lead storyteller, then it just keeps on rocking around the room ‘til the bitter end. Despite the gusher of pent up musical energy that escapes in the process, it still manages to expose all the raw passion that makes it distinctively Dawes. Worth a spin, or ten. Favorite track: From A Window Seat (Live from the Rooftop, Los Angeles, CA 8.28.20).

exile1973 The solos in this are captivating.
Favorite track: Somewhere Along the Way (Live from the Rooftop, Los Angeles, CA 8.28.20).

klaus-b The album has great songs, some heavy, some slow, but unfortunately it completely lacks the live feeling. No interaction with the audience, no applause, everything has been filtered out. Too bad, so it sounds a bit "sterile"... almost like a studio album.
I wonder what kind of live concert this was anyway? Maybe the band played completely without an audience, just for streaming audio?

Marcus Robinson I’m glad you guys decided to release this! So good! Favorite track: Feed the Fire (Live from the Rooftop, Los Angeles, CA 8.28.20).

sekim A wonderfully engineered live take at Dawes. It can make them sound quiet and peaceful, or just as easily sound explosive and powerful.

It's also a great selection of Dawes' catalog. Favorite track: Somewhere Along the Way (Live from the Rooftop, Los Angeles, CA 8.28.20).

about

New Live Album is here!

'Somewhere Along the Way'
This was the first time we played together since the world had shut down. So playing together felt radioactive. I remember this song in particular felt ecstatic to me. Hopefully you can still hear it in there. And the best part about this version is you don’t have to look at my stupid guitar faces in the solo.
